Dino Park

Dinosaurs are roaring into Carousel Park at Melbourne Zoo. The creators at Erth Visual & Physical Inc have teamed up with Melbourne Zoo to create a walk-through experience where you will see prehistoric roving dinosaurs come to life. You might be lucky enough to watch a Dinosaur Keeper waking a dinosaur from their slumber.

Easter egg hunt

Dino Egg Hunt Trail

Looking for a different type of Easter Egg Hunt? This year Melbourne Zoo is hosting a Dino egg hunt trail. Zoo members can collect a trail map from the entrance and follow clues to find dinosaur and bird nests around the zoo. There will be clues and puzzles to solve along the way, once you have answered all the questions kids can drop the map off at the Zoo Shop to go into the draw to win dinosaur prizes.

Dates: Easter long weekend, 19-22 April 2019
Time: 9am-5pm
Location: Melbourne Zoo
Price: Free for Zoo Members (the general public are welcome to go on the hunt but unfortunately, only zoo members can enter the competition to win prizes).

Zoovie Night

Zoovie Night is back and celebrating the opening of Melbourne Zoo’s new Dinosaur Park. A special screening of the popular Pixar and Walt Disney film, The Good Dinosaur will be showing on the Zoos Outdoor Cinema Screen. Grab a picnic rug and reserve a spot on the main lawn. There will also be family entertainment and activities, and a visit to the new Dinosaur Park.

Mega Beasts at Healesville Sanctuary

A new Megafauna spectacular is heading to Healesville Sanctuary, featuring giant beasts from our past. Megafauna roamed the earth more than 10,000 years ago. Kids can explore their stories through a collection of amazing, ancient artefacts.

Mega Keeper Talks – 1.30pm during the week, and 11.30am and 1.30pm on weekends and school holidays.

Families can follow the Werribee River Trail to find life-size dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurs Rex, Stegosaurus and more. Roaming Dinosaur Rangers will be observing behaviours, taking notes and helping kids interpret the movements and sounds of these prehistoric creatures. Kids can also take part in a fossil dig which will take place in the Dino Ranger research tent.
