Christmas Square

The main hub for this years Christmas Festival is Christmas Square located at Fed Square. Families can view the 16m giant Christmas tree and visit Santa at Santa’s Big Workshop.

Melbourne's Christmas Festival 2019

Christmas Projections

The Christmas projections are back in 2020 with animations at State Library Victoria and stunning static displays light up Melbourne Town Hall and Princes Bridge. This year’s projections at State Library Victoria feature a thank you tribute to some of Melbourne’s COVID-19 heroes.

Santa’s Spectacles

Santa’s Spectacles is an Augmented Reality experience that transports you to the North Pole while walking the streets of Melbourne. You must have a smartphone to scan Melbourne landmarks, look out for lamp posts at each location and follow the map for a Christmas adventure.

Santa’s Big Workshop

Santa is a very busy man at this time of the year. His friendly elves invite kids to his workshop to say ‘hi’ and even take a photo with Santa from a COVID-safe distance.

Time: 10 am–12 pm, 1 pm–3 pm every day of the Festival. On Thursdays and Fridays, he will also be in his workshop between 4 pm–7 pm

The District Makers Market – Christmas Edition

Deck the Streets

Blender Studios’ resident artists are spreading festive cheer down Melbournes famous Hosier Lane. Artists include Heesco, Makatron, George Rose, Lyn, Luke Presto, DOYLE, LUCYLCY and the blender crew. Come down on the 10 December from 12 pm to see the artist in action.
