Glow Winter Arts Festival 2019

The beautiful historic Central Park will light up a spectacular display of immersive, interactive and illuminated installations at this years ‘Glow Winter Arts Festival 2019’. Now in its sixth year, the festival returns for four nights only 15-18 August 2019. Bring the whole family to experience this free event proudly presented by the City of Stonnington.

Festival highlights

Wonderdome

Get ready to be transported to another universe of light with the return of Mandylights Wonderdome, From a distance, families witness a dome of light, glowing and pulsing. The globes appear to be suspended in mid-air as they approach. Stepping inside the dome, the globes swirl and illuminate with every colour of the rainbow.

Minor Disturbance

Minor Disturbance by The Indirect Object is visually and sonically inspired by the Great Barrier Reef. This interactive installation bringing into focus the awe-inspiring beauty of our ocean and the plastic pollution that threatens it. With handmade sculptures created from recycled plastic bottles, bags, jars and wire, the organic shapes mimic the natural fluorescent corals of the sea.

Secrets of the Golden Elm Tree

Secrets of the Golden Elm Tree by The Electric Canvas, encourages visitors to discover an enchanted universe and garden filled with shimmering light.

Red Air

Red Air is an inflatable art collaboration between Goldberg Aberline Studio (GAS), who create big, happy art, and First Nations artists Sharon and Kaye Warrie from the Pilbara Desert. This new collaboration celebrates Australia’s ancient past while simultaneously creating something very new and modern for all Australians.

Seasons

PixALL presents a theatrical light production Seasons, a playful interpretation of Melbourne’s daily weather. Exploring the never-ending cycle of Seasons, by transforming the environment with a blend of lighting, digital projections and sound.

String Symphony

String Symphony by Leon Hendroff and Spare Parts Puppet Theatre is a highly interactive installation that explores connection, community and collaboration.
