Bendigo Easter Festival

Bendigo will come alive over the Easter Long Weekend with annual Bendigo Easter Festival. One of Australia’s oldest community festivals which showcases Bendigo’s diverse community. Fours days of live music, kids activities, art shows, carnival rides, Rotary art, and craft market.

Gala Parade

The Gala Parade is a festival tradition where cultural groups, dance troupes, sports clubs, school groups and many more perform along the parade route. Kids can enjoy watching the Golden Dragon Sun Loong, the world’s longest dragon of this kind.

Torchlight Procession and Fireworks

The torchlight procession will light up the streets of Bendigo, with vibrant entries from local emergency services, community groups, and the Bendigo Chinese Association. The night will end with a spectacular fireworks display at Rosalind Park. There will be pre-parade entertainment along the parade route from 6.30 pm–8 pm.

Vision Australia Easter Egg Hunt

Kids will have the opportunity to search for 170,000 Easter eggs hidden in Rosalind Park on Good Friday and Easter Saturday. The Easter egg hunts will be organised in separate age groups throughout each day, check the website for more details. This event is a major fundraiser for Vision Australia.

Bellarine Railway

Good Friday Appeal – Heritage Service

What better way to raise money for The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal than booking a heritage train trip from Queenscliff to Lakers Siding on Good Friday. Proceeds on the day will be donated to the Good Friday Appeal.

On Easter Saturday and Sunday, the Bellarine Railway will have a special 45 min Easter Bunny Train ride with lots of family fun onboard.

Rip Curl Pro

Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach

Some of the world best surfers are heading to Bells Beach for the Rip Curl Pro. Celebrating its 58-year, surfers will compete for professional surfing’s most treasured trophy – the Rip Curl Pro Bell.

The Rip Curl Pro holds a very special place in surfers hearts, being the longest-running world championship level contest on the World Tour.

Time: It depends on the waves. The competition only runs in the best possible surf conditions, it’s best to check the World Surf League website each morning to see if the competition goes ahead.
