Sunset Circus is a fabulous sun-soaked circus cabaret show for the whole family to enjoy. It features some of Australia’s finest, award-winning circus performers and is hosted by the irrepressibly funny, Mason West.

Families will be amazed at the feats of strength shown by the aerialists on the silks, wowed by the grace of the spinning wheel queen and blown away by the balancing maestro as he hangs 10 on the most impossible of objects.

The Gecko and the Mermaid: Djerrkŋu Yunupiŋu and Her Sister

The Gecko and the Mermaid: Djerrkŋu Yunupiŋu and Her Sister, celebrates the vibrant culture and community of the Yolŋu people through the work of two pioneering artists and sisters.

The exhibition will introduce young audiences to Yolŋu art, culture and language and provide an opportunity for children and families to learn more about and engage with the rich culture from North-East Arnhem Land – known to be one of the oldest living cultures on this planet.

Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show

Bluey’s Big Play is heading to the State Theatre after being rescheduled to the Summer School Holidays. This brand new theatrical adaptation of the very popular children’s television series is brought to life by beautifully created puppets. The original story is by Bluey’s creator Joe Brumm, and new music by Brisbane’s Beethoven and Bluey composer, Joff Bush.

Weave It!

Weave It! is an interactive and evolving exhibition, multi-sensory installation and workshop series for children and their grown-ups, held at The Store, at Abbotsford Convent. Throughout January, children are invited to collaborate with artists Lisa Waup (Gunditjmara and Torres Strait Islander), John Brooks and each other, immersing themselves in the engaging practices of textiles and weaving, resulting in a “takeover” as the work grows into a wonderland of colourful, bright, fun fabrics and textures throughout the space.
