Wyndham City’s free light festival, LIT, returns to Werribee this autumn, bringing 14 nights of illuminated wonder from Thursday to Sunday, 27 March – 13 April 2025.
Highlights of this year’s festival include:
• Ephemeral Collection: Make your way through this maze-like installation from Atelier Sisu, featuring more than 50 larger-than-life iridescent bubbles that radiate colour and sound. • The Guardians: Explore The Guardians: a forest-like inflatable installation by Matthew Aberline of The Beautiful and Useful Studio, celebrating Australian wildflowers and the rich colours of the land. • Tarutharu The Kaurna Skink: a 27-metre long glowing sculpture created by A Blanck Canvas in collaboration with First Nations artist Elizabeth Close and Jack Buckskin, as a representative of the Kaurna Peoples. • Ctrl-Alt-Self: Create and interact with a holographic-like projection of yourself in real time, with this new work by Studio John Fish. • Presence Passage: a playful new light walk commissioned by Wyndham City from local artist, Ariadne Concha. • The Lanternist: Keep your eye out for fantastical glowing creatures from The Laternist.
This year, LIT aligns with the first week of the school holidays, with extended opening hours and an earlier start time of 7 pm, perfect for families and night-time explorers.
