Relive the soundtrack that defined a generation when The Big Chill Out tours Australia in 2026. Inspired by the iconic 1983 feature film The Big Chill, this live stage production celebrates the unforgettable music that helped shape a generation and sparked the Motown revival.
Featuring powerhouse performances from the winner of The Voice Australia 2017, Judah Kelly and acclaimed musical theatre performer Asabi Goodman, the show brings together the legendary songs from the film’s celebrated soundtrack in a live concert experience backed by a world-class 10-piece band.
The original film became a cultural phenomenon, launching the careers of stars including Glenn Close, Kevin Kline, Jeff Goldblum and William Hurt. Its soundtrack became equally legendary, spending 161 weeks on the charts and reviving interest in Motown classics.
Audiences can expect timeless hits from legendary artists, including Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Smokey Robinson and Creedence Clearwater Revival performed live on stage.
The show is presented in two acts: the first showcases beloved tracks from the original soundtrack, while the second celebrates Motown favourites and songs featured on later deluxe editions. Expect a night filled with soul, rock, nostalgia, and sing-along classics that continue to connect generations.
