The Future & Other Fictions

Explore ACMI's latest exhibition, The Future & Other Fictions, a thought-provoking journey into screen culture's role in shaping a hopeful and imaginative world. Co-curated by Amanda Haskard (Gunai/Kurnai), Chelsey O’Brien, and futurist Liam Young, the exhibition features over 180 captivating pieces from films, video games, and screen-based art.

• Concept art from Cyberpunk 2077 and The Creator
• Björk’s dreamlike dress and headpiece from The Gate
• Interactive zones allow visitors to create personalised posters, while new moving image commissions, like Hannah Brontë’s Birth of Dawn and Liam Young’s After the End, explore themes of rewilding and renewal.
