Cliffhanger Climbing Gym

Cliffhanger is Melbourne's OG climbing gym, open since 1993 and rebuilt in 2022, and home to the tallest indoor climbing wall in Australia at 19 metres.

For kids and families: anyone from age 2 can have a go, no booking is needed, and our friendly staff will show first timers the ropes. Climbers under 13 can't belay, so bring someone 13 or over to hold the ropes; our instructors will teach you how.

Birthday parties: weekend parties on Australia's tallest climbing wall. Our instructors teach parents to belay, the kids get plenty of time on the walls, gear is included, and afterwards you have a private party room upstairs. Catering through the café or bring your own.

Programs: school holiday program, youth program for ages 6 to 18, school excursions, and Scouts and Guides sessions.

Gear hire, a café with great coffee for the parents, and free parking on site at the Westgate Sports Centre, 61-65 Dohertys Road, Altona North, about 18 minutes from the Melbourne CBD.
