One of the world's most beloved musicals, My Fair Lady arrives in Melbourne for a special season celebrating 70 years since its Broadway debut.
Directed by Karen Johnson Mortimer, based on the 2016 Australian production by Julie Andrews, this lavish production brings the classic story of Eliza Doolittle back to the stage.
The story follows Eliza, an irrepressible Cockney flower girl, whose life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Professor Henry Higgins. Confident in his ability to transform her speech and manners, Higgins takes on the challenge of turning Eliza into a lady of society. What follows is a witty and entertaining story of identity, transformation and unexpected relationships.
Starring Nathaniel Parker (Inspector Lynley Mysteries) as Professor Henry Higgins and Claire Lyon as Eliza Doolittle, the cast also features returning performers Reg Livermore, Robyn Nevin and Tony Llewellyn-Jones, alongside Freddy Hellier in his mainstage debut and the much-loved Anne Wood.
Audiences can look forward to an unforgettable score featuring some of musical theatre's most recognisable songs, including 'Wouldn't It Be Loverly?', 'I Could Have Danced All Night' and 'Get Me to the Church on Time'.
With its memorable characters, sharp wit and beautiful music, My Fair Lady is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a much-loved musical theatre classic in Melbourne.
