ACMI – BEINGS by UNIVERSAL EVERYTHING Exhibition
The world-premiere exhibition Beings by Universal Everything has opened at ACMI. This interactive exhibition features 13 super-sized digital artworks and experiences that invite visitors to move, dance, and play. Curated by ACMI and featuring artworks from Universal Everything’s 20-year career, Beings stands as their most expansive international exhibition yet.

Projected larger than life, Universal Everything’s parade of fantastic beings morphs between forms and textures, transforming from kaleidoscopic fur to molten lava, water molecules, and more.
As you interact with the colourful characters, your movements bring them to life. The more you move, the more animated they become.
Utilising game engines, VFX software, and evolving algorithms, the digital installations change in real-time, ensuring no two visits are the same.

The exhibition also includes hand-drawn sketches that offer insight into the creative process and innovation behind the artworks.
For over 20 years, the UK-based art and design collective Universal Everything has created vibrant experiences that enchant audiences. Inspired by nature, human figures, and emotions, their work explores movement, form, and colour to create a world of hyperreal beings.
My kids loved the curious characters of Beings. I can’t imagine how long it takes to create these incredible pieces. My favourite piece was Transfiguration; it was mesmerising to watch the transformations.
At the end of the exhibition, kids can take a seat at the “Make, Play, and Create” station, where they can craft their own curious beings by layering colourful shapes that are inspired by the artwork and sketches from the exhibition.
