Get ready for an exciting weekend of free entertainment as the Firelight Festival heads back to Docklands over three nights. This much-loved annual winter celebration will feature stunning light installations, gigantic inflatable neon mushrooms, pop-up entertainment, laser and light activation and much more.
Mark your calendars from Friday 30 June to Sunday 2 July 2023, as this year’s festival boasts an impressive lineup of over 125 talented artists and performers. Entry to the festival is free, making it an ideal outing for families.
Among the highlights, you’ll find an interactive light and music installation, completely transforming Docklands’ Central Park into a dazzling sea of super-sized flowers that emit mesmerising light, colour, and sound.
Make your way down Victoria Promenade and immerse yourself in the world of giant inflatable mushrooms illuminated with vibrant neon lights, creating a truly surreal atmosphere. A 5m tall futuristic archangel puppet with thousands of LED lights will gracefully roam along the Harbour Esplanade. As darkness falls, watch the night sky comes alive with a spectacular laser and light activation, forming a majestic web of lights that stretches across Victoria Harbour.
Keep a lookout for pop-up entertainment that includes fire eaters, twirlers, roving brass bands, Bollywood performers, and hip-hop dancers.
The talented Melbourne DJ Mz Rizk will take center stage, accompanied by a lively salsa band, West African drummers, and an 11-piece Colombian dance and music crew.
The Docklands waterfront will also have 40 fire pits and drums, 35 flame jets, two fire sculptures, and Firelight arches.
