The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2019 is back at the historic Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens 27-31 March 2019. The best thing is kids under 14 are free!

Your kids don’t have to be green thumbs to enjoy family fun at the show.

Enjoy the roving entertainment, face painting, hands-on gardening workshops and for the little fashionistas’ the RMIT floral fashion shows of the ingenuity of Australia’s upcoming designers.

At The Diggers Club kids can walk through a garden display of heirloom fruit, plants, and a show favourite the gardening club’s pumpkin installation. They can get their hands dirty in the worm farm and veggies patch. Enjoy beekeeping and building chook sheds workshops.

Ryobi is running Make & Take Workshop showing kids how to use their tools to build a vertical garden that can be used for herbs or small plants. Get in quick, spots go fast.

This year’s Kid Zone is located in the stunning Carlton Gardens. Brought to you by Beyond Blue it offers trampolining and a Funky Monkey bar set to play on, flower crown & tiara making area, painting, drawing and writing stations, giant Snakes and Ladders, Jenga games and face painting.

Every child that visits the Beyond Blue garden will be given a show bag to take home with them!

In the Carlton Gardens, you’ll find the NGIV precinct where kids are encouraged to reconnect with nature and become immersed in a landscape of interactive play. Within this feature garden, kids can hide within a bamboo forested tunnel, climb up the log fort, generate water through a bicycle, discover worm farms and get their hands dirty potting plants they can take home.

Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show returns in 2022

Be sure to take your kids to see The Sculpture Exhibition in the Central Boulevard of Carlton Gardens. Artists will be walking around on the day and happy to explain their work and to answer any questions.
