Marvel Stadium will host Firelight Labyrinth during this year’s Firelight Festival, created by lighting specialist Mandylights. Monash University Performing Arts Centre presents Family Fiesta, a celebration of children’s art and performance, from 3-6 July 2024. Enjoy a lineup of theatre, music, and art, all grounded in science. The main stage shows Little Blue Dot by Lemony S Puppet Theatre offers an engaging theatre experience for children and families. Comedian Dilruk Jayasinha hosts a cosmic concert, The Planets and Other Space Music. Special guest Scienceworksis bringing a chunk of real meteorite, for kids to wrap their hands around, and presenting two lunar-inspired experiences Lunar Station and Moon Moves. Interactive art installations Space Play and Star Weavers will fill the foyers. Pianist and composer Nat Bartsch plays her new album for pre-schoolers in the Sound Gallery, Forever, and No Time At All. There are demonstrations of real Lunar and Mars rovers at the festival site, presented by the space engineering team Monash Nova Rover.
