Kid-friendly Melbourne Fringe Festival 2019

The Melbourne Fringe Festival 2019 is the perfect opportunity for kids to embark on a journey beyond their imagination. This year’s XS Program will feature kid-friendly shows, circus performances, storytelling, dance parties, theatre and robot making. The festival runs from 12–29 September 2019 at various locations around Melbourne.

Super Circus Squad

Super Circus Squad features high energy acrobatics, aerials stunts and slapstick comedy. In this highly interactive journey about two brand new circus superheroes, kids and adults can join in to help the heroes find their powers, fears, strengths, weaknesses and – most importantly – their names.

Don’t mess with the Dummies latest show – Lions and Tigers and Dummies, OH MY! is a circus-filled extravaganza that will leave you chuckling like a monkey and roaring for more. The Dummies will monkey around the jungle, swing through treetops all to a-rockin’ soundtrack.

The Nylon Zoo Enter the Zoo-niverse

Join The Nylon Zoo, and enter a fantastical story Zoo-niverse. A place where theatre, costume, dance, music and play allows kids to journey to ancient kingdoms and sparkly unicorn playgrounds. Enjoy an immersive storytelling experience inside three giant inflatable creatures.

Kid-aoke – mass karaoke for kids

Join Bae Marie (Alex Morris – Musical Director, Choral Conductor and Music Educator) and Cameron Thomas (pianist extraordinaire) in celebrating the fun of dressing up and singing with their friends and family in Kid-aoke. The singalong is designed especially for little ones aged 5–10.

TETRIS

Be taken back to the 80s with Tetris, a colourful and acrobatic dance work that brings the cross-generational games of Tetris, Twister and Rubik’s Cube to life. The Fairy Wonderland Show

Come along on a magical journey to Fairyland with Fairy Jasmine and Fairy Jack, as they explore what it means to be a true fairy. We Are The Robots

We Are The Robots takes kids through a massive, translucent dome-shaped performance space where they will build robots that produce a soundscape based on their visual choices. Although the robots can’t be taken home, kids can take a happy snap with their creation, along with the audio produced during the workshop.

Pirate Circus

Three sailors hit the high seas in search of treasure in this rip-roaring and swashbuckling adventure Pirate Circus!
