This year Boroondara Arts’ Autumn School Holiday Program offers the most exciting range of activities for school-aged kids including circus and dance workshops, magic classes and arts and crafts.

Boroondara Arts’ Autumn School Holiday Program runs from Monday 8 April to Wednesday 17 April at the Hawthorn Arts Centre.

A Taste of Circus

Runaway with Calligraphy Circus in a 90-minute workshop where participants will learn the essential tricks of the trade, including juggling, hula hooping, plate spinning and more.

Dance like Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk

Learn some of Bruno Mars’ funky moves from Uptown Funk with this fun-filled hip-hop dance workshop. Parents, carers and friends are welcome to stay or return at the end of the hour to see the dancers perform.

Dance like Taylor Swift – Shake it Off

Learn a fun, cheerleading inspired dance routine to Taylor Swift’s hit song Shake It Off! Parents, carers and friends are also welcome to stay or return at the end of the hour to see the dancers perform.

Make a Dragon Egg

Kids can learn how to make your own dragon eggs using a variety of magical materials. Perfect for witches, wizards and muggles alike.

Vintage Garlands

Learn how to make gorgeous garlands and bunting using a selection of colourful vintage papers to create your very own hanging decoration just in time for Easter.

Australia’s leading female magician Cath Jamieson will provide an easy introduction to the world of magic, teaching pre-schoolers to perform their very own magic tricks. Parents and carers are welcome to stay.

Magic School

Budding magicians aged 5 to 12 are invited to enter the world of magic with Australia’s leading female magician Cath Jamieson. Cath will teach them how to perform tricks and share her secrets for putting on the perfect show
for their friends and family.

Splashtest Dummies 

Rub-a-dub-dub! The Dummies are back with a splish-splashing circus set to entertain and induce tears of laughter.
See a brilliant array of catch-your-breath stunt work, acrobatics, juggling, and side-splitting slapstick comedy for
which the Dummies are famous.

Playing with Patterns

Have fun playing with colour, pattern and texture! In this interactive, playful, and relaxing workshop, children will
use water-based marbling techniques to create a unique, coloured ink pattern on A3 paper. Bring your imagination!

Folio Preparation VCE

VCE Art and Design students are invited to come along and discuss their developing folios and projects with
professional visual artist Naomi Bishop. Naomi will give advice on ways to improve final submissions, as well as
information for entry into tertiary institutions. BYO projects.
