Lightscape returns to the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne from 12 June – 2 August 2026, transforming the gardens into a spectacular after-dark winter experience filled with light, colour and music.

Now a much-loved Melbourne winter tradition, Lightscape 2026 features brand-new installations and international artists, alongside exceptional Australian and First Peoples creative talent. Families can wander glowing pathways, discover large-scale illuminated artworks and enjoy interactive moments designed to delight visitors of all ages.

Celebrated nationwide and winner of two consecutive Gold Victorian Tourism Awards, Lightscape continues to be one of Australia’s most sought-after winter events.

Along the trail, warm up with mulled wine, hot chocolate and tasty treats while enjoying a magical night beneath the stars. Whether visiting with kids, friends or extended family, Lightscape offers a relaxed evening experience combining art, nature and winter atmosphere.
