If you love chocolate you must visit the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery. Located on the Victorian Surf Coast nestled between Torquay and Anglesea, Leanne and Ian Neeland have created a chocolate paradise ideal for a day trip from Melbourne.
The Chocolaterie is set on 15 hectares and features an ice-creamery, the Pod Café, showroom, veggie garden, fruit and nut orchard and some cute little guinea pigs and Bantam chickens.

When first entering the Chocolaterie you are greeted with a showroom full of thousands of chocolates and truffles that have been crafted by European Chocolatiers. Kids can watch the Chocolateries hard at work through the large viewing window.
The showroom has an impressive arrangement of chocolate gifts, hard-boiled lollies and even chocolate skincare products. The giant freckles, chocolate frogs, and a metre-long block of chocolate were hard to go past. If you would like to try some at-home packs ‘Brownie at-home baking kit’ and ‘Junior Fondue Kit’ look like a lot of fun.

The highest quality of Belgian Chocolate is used in their products. Other ingredients come from the onsite veggie garden, fruit and nut trees, and local provisions.
The Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery is proudly part of the Cocoa Horizons Program. The Program supports farmers and their communities, ensuring that the Cocoa is sustainably sourced.
The Pod Café overlooks the beautiful gardens kids are free to play on the grass and explore the veggie garden. Be sure to say hello to the cute little guinea pigs. The cafe has a menu of sweet and savoury dishes and a selection of artisan ice creams. I ordered some macaroons and the chocolate mousse dessert, which was accompanied by fresh cream and an exquisite chocolate dipping sauce. Yum!
