IMAGINARIA is an immersive play experience that has just arrived in Melbourne. Families can navigate through a series of custom-built installations that are housed within a giant inflatable bubble. Each installation is fully interactive, with sound, scent and light activating in response to movement as you go through.

There are seven worlds to explore within the space, each installation has a radiant lantern so kids can search and find each one as they walk around the space.
The first installation titled ‘Echo Cave’ welcomes visitors to walk through the caves as the walls illuminate beautiful colours.

The ‘Secret Garden’ is a magical sanctuary of glowing beams of light hanging from the roof just like a light-filled forest, this installation is very impressive.
My kids loved the ‘Black Hole’ installation, this is a NASA inspired black hole simulator where kids can climb through the black hole.

To finish they have a beautiful jumping castle and an infinity bubble which fills with light and sound. There are staff stationed at every installation to make sure social distancing rules are being followed. Some are dressed to impress.
“Trends in society are often reflections of our deeper needs, desires or values. We wanted to create a play experience that elevated you out of the digital fog and snapped you into the now. A creative reminder to slow down, be still and connect.”
Nick Ennis, Creative Director
Imaginaria has been designed by a multidisciplinary team of fashion designers, architects, musicians, audiovisual artists, light projectionists, sculptors, stuntmen and circus stars, drawing inspiration from international trends and synthesizing a range of influences from art, technology, gaming and immersive play.
