It’s that time of year when we say goodbye to 2022 and welcome in 2023. If you have small children and don’t want a late night, there are plenty of New Year’s Eve celebrations for families around Melbourne.
If you are heading into the city there will be four celebration zones – Docklands, Flagstaff Gardens, Treasury Gardens and Kings Domain. All zoneswill offer family-friendly options at different corners of the city – with DJs, live music, dance workshops, light installations and food trucks, as well as a 9.30 pm localised fireworks display.

Melbourne will bring in 2023 with the largest midnight fireworks ever delivered, with fireworks and laser displays from 30 CBD rooftops – eight more than in previous years.
The midnight fireworks display will be set to an eight-minute soundtrack, curated by Melbourne producer and DJ Mike Katz, and will dazzle from anywhere the city skyline can be viewed.
Bring a picnic and enjoy New Year’s Eve by the water at Waterfront Williamstown. This year it’s an 80’s style event, with performances by Stand & Deliver, DJ Old Skool and the girls from Sash Entertainment providing fun for the whole family.
Sash Entertainment will host a disco for the kids and DJ Old Skool will run lots of games to keep the families entertained!

Boneo Discovery Park’s NYE Garden Party is back with loads of family fun. Bring along a picnic and enjoy an evening filled with light installations, a roaming magician, workshops, DINO in Sand and a spectacular fire show to finish the night.
Tickets include all entertainment, park access, entry to DINO In Sand, the jumping castle and the craft tent. Tickets do not include the rides, mini golf or the rope course these can be added on the night.
