Description

Nestled on the banks of the Birrarung on Wurundjeri land, Collingwood Children’s Farm provides community engagement, education and natural connection with green space and animals. The Farm works to support social inclusion with a range of programs on a working community farm and is a haven for children and adults alike.

Collingwood Children’s Farm has been aware of the need for green spaces for urban dwellers for 40+ years, not only does it have a strong connection to the community, but it is also a key part of the community and has been for decades.

Education programs, community programs, our animals and gardens all provide an opportunity for those living in dense housing to have access to an outdoor space and learn about nature and the environment.

Feeling like part of a community and having a sense of belonging are critical to developing a strong sense of self. Providing young people with the opportunity to engage within the local community reduces their likelihood of engaging in antisocial behaviour. Collingwood Children’s Farm provides a safe space and essential opportunities for young people to connect through educational and social programs and initiatives.

Collingwood Children’s Farm hosts a variety of family-friendly events throughout the year, including Winter Solstice Bonfire, NAIDOC Day celebration, Yarra Family Day and Collingwood Children’s Farm birthday celebrations.

Bring the family for a walk around the farm or picnic while engaging with our animals and farming community. Your entry fees support the animals, land, and community programs.
