Little Blue Dot

Camping beneath a star-filled sky, Dad and Kid wait for a comet that passes Earth only once every 50,000 years. As they wait, Kid takes Dad on a journey through the wonders of space, explaining gravity, light years, space-time and black holes.

Using puppetry, storytelling and imaginative theatre, Lemony S Puppet Theatre transports children and families into the vastness of space while exploring some very big questions.

What does a team of astrophysicists have to do with making children's theatre? Quite a lot! Little Blue Dot was developed in collaboration with Dr Rosemary Mardling and Dr Alex Wallace from the Monash University School of Physics and Astronomy. The production was commissioned by Monash University Performing Arts Centres, with co-commissioning support from Geelong Arts Centre.

Set around a simple camping and stargazing adventure between a child and their dad, Little Blue Dot explores our place in the universe and why our small blue planet matters.
