Description
Mentone Racecourse Reserve is located on the old Mentone Racecourse site which is why the council has kept the lovely horse theme throughout the space.
The reserve has one main playground structure that has racehorse images running up the side of the ramp and two full-size horse statues. There are two small slides and a tall viewing station, in which kids can take the fireman pole down to the ground. Kids love the flying fox and rope swing. There's a sandpit with a couple of old-school diggers, two ride-on rocking horses and a wooden maze.
The highlight of the park is a beautiful lake that is home to a variety of bird species. You can walk around the lake or sit on the bridge and watch the ducks.
