Victorian State Schools Spectacular

The Victorian State Schools Spectacular returns to John Cain Arena on Saturday, 29 August 2026, with an inspiring new production, This Is Me.

Presented in two performances at 1 pm and 6.30 pm, this much-loved annual event brings together more than 2,500 Victorian government school students in Melbourne Park's largest annual live production.

Featuring more than 40 spectacular musical performances, This Is Me takes audiences on an uplifting journey through iconic songs spanning generations and genres. Expect music from artists including Lady Gaga, Led Zeppelin, Tina Turner, Simon & Garfunkel, Jamiroquai and Creedence Clearwater Revival, alongside favourites from The Greatest Showman.

Celebrating over 30 years of inspiring audiences, the Victorian State Schools Spectacular showcases the incredible creativity and talent of students from across Victoria. The production features an 80-piece student orchestra, 30 featured singers and dancers, a mass dance cast representing 82 schools, and a 1,000-voice choir from 55 schools.

Audiences can also enjoy dazzling costumes, immersive visual effects, large-scale choreography and breathtaking aerial performances, including trapeze, aerial silks and rings.

Highlights of this year's production include a powerful First Nations ensemble led by Na Djinang Circus alongside the award-winning Pese Mai Choir, performing songs in multiple Indigenous languages. The show also features a signing choir from the Victorian College for the Deaf, along with guest performers from the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School and the Rowville Institute of the Arts.

More than just a performance, the Victorian State Schools Spectacular provides students with a unique opportunity to develop their creative talents while working alongside industry professionals. Participants also gain valuable experience in backstage production roles, including stage management, lighting, sound, vision and costume design.
