The ART OF BANKSY: WITHOUT LIMITS arrives in Melbourne
The Art of Banksy: Without Limits has arrived in Melbourne, celebrating the creativity and thought-provoking messages of the acclaimed and anonymous British street artist, Banksy. This exhibition features over 180 of Banksy’s works, including certified originals, prints, photos, lithographs, sculptures, murals, and video mapping installations.

I’ve been a fan of Banksy’s work for years, so I wondered how his art would be transferred to an indoor setting. Banksy’s art is famously found on buildings and walls worldwide, particularly in his hometown of Bristol, England. The exhibition designers have done an incredible job capturing the essence of his street art within an indoor environment that features several areas.

Some of the exhibition highlights include installations from Banksy’s 2015 pop-up Bemusement Park, Dismaland; iconic prints like “Flower Thrower” and “Kissing Coppers”; sculptures including “Phone Booth”; sections dedicated to Banksy’s activism related to immigrants and political themes. The immersive infinity room is particularly spectacular, offering a unique experience with its projection of various artworks accompanied by music.

Many exhibitions featuring Banksy’s work over the years have faced criticism for lacking endorsement from Banksy himself. Similar sentiments have been expressed regarding Banksy’s disapproval of his street art being removed from public spaces and sold to the highest bidder.
