Moomba Festival 2025 returns for five days of unmissable family fun, celebrating 70 years of culture, community, art, music, and sport. From thrilling rides and live entertainment to the iconic Moomba Parade and Birdman Rally, this year’s festival promises an exciting program for all ages. Running from Thursday, 6 March to Monday, 10 March 2025, Moomba will once again bring the city to life with fun-filled experiences.

The iconic Moomba Parade will return, featuring 1,600 performers from community groups, dance troupes, circus acts, and more. This year’s parade will showcase seven new floats, including Best Party Ever!, created in partnership with the Children’s Cancer Foundation. Also debuting is a Wurundjeri float, designed by Wurundjeri artist and cultural consultant Alex Kerr in collaboration with community members.

Fed Square will transform into a pop music playground as international TikTok sensation and pop icon Peach PRC headlines a free concert on Sunday, 9 March 2025, as part of Open Air at the Square. Peach will bring her signature bold, bubblegum-punk-pop energy to the heart of Melbourne, joined by Sydney singer-songwriter and producer Carla Wehbe and Adelaide indie-pop artist George Alice.

The Moomba Masters water sports competition returns, showcasing top Australian and international athletes in a thrilling display of skill and speed. Adding to the excitement, the Jetpack water show will make a splash once again on the Yarra River, delivering high-flying stunts and adrenaline-pumping action.

With over 30 thrill rides and games for all ages, the Moomba Carnival is packed with excitement. Among the highlights is the Sky Flyer XL—Australia’s tallest family thrill ride, soaring 60 metres into the air and offering breathtaking views of the city.

Step into the creative world of Paper Planet, a magical cardboard forest where your imagination brings creatures, costumes, and characters to life. Perfect for children aged 2 to 12 years (and their adults), this interactive experience invites families to build vines, flowers, costumes, and impossible constructions using paper and tape while performers roam the forest, blending theatre and play.
