Description
The Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail is a 40 km recreational path ideal for walkers, cyclists, and horse riders, tracing the historic railway line through the Yarra Valley.
Starting behind Lilydale Railway Station and ending in Warburton township, the trail offers a scenic journey through vineyards, farmlands, and forests, with stunning mountain views along the way.
As you follow the trail, you'll pass the old turntable and the historic first aid post, winding through bushland and a tunnel. The route crosses numerous restored bridges and passes remnants of former station platforms, providing a glimpse into the area's rich history. You can also visit the original 1882 railway station, now the Upper Yarra Museum, to learn more about the trail's past.
