It’s that time of year when the best Tennis players from around the world head to Melbourne Park for the Australian Open. Running from 16 – 29 January 2023, the Australian Open will host more fun for kids than ever before. The AO Ballpark is back, and AO Tennis Club is an entirely new precinct dedicated to celebrating and playing tennis. The Grand Slam Oval will be an oasis for families, and the popular Kids Tennis Day is returning on Saturday 14 January 2023.

This year the Australian Open will offer kids ground passes starting from $10 for week one and just $5 for week two. Ground pass holders will have the choice of tennis on John Cain Arena, Kia Arena, and the outside courts, plus multiple family-friendly activities and entertainment across Grand Slam Oval, Garden Square, AO Tennis Club and AO Ballpark.
The AO Ballpark has loads of fun for kids of all ages. This year the AO Ballpark will feature a 7m high aerial adventure with 12 obstacles, an entertainment stage, an 8m water slide, the Emirates Fly Better Adventure activity, Tennis Hot Shots, and a First Nations immersive digital art experience.

The AO Tennis Club is a brand-new precinct dedicated to playing the sport in all its forms. Located north of Garden Square, young fans can hone their skills at Tennis Hot Shots, Padel, Pop, Totem and Table Tennis.
Grand Slam Oval (GSO) is the home to a new soaring shade structure, standing 11m tall and 36m wide, the Pavilion’s design is inspired by native trees and will create an oasis from the sun. With a panel of giant screens on GSO, families can sit back and relax in the shade without missing a moment of the action happening on the court.

Kids Tennis Day is jam-packed with a wide variety of activities around the Australian Open precinct. Highlights include:
• Arena Spectacular – families can enjoy acrobatics, appearances from fan-favourite tennis players, and high-energy family fun.
• Hot Shots tennis fun – kids can test their skills with top Australian players.
• Grand Slam Oval Super Stage – watch performances by PJ Masks, Baby Shark, Spiderman, BMX stunt show, magic show and much more.
• Character appearances – LEGO characters, Paddington, Iron man, Fireman Sam, Scooby Doo, Bob the Builder and more.
