LEGO® Star Wars: The Exhibition has landed at Melbourne Museum—and it’s a must-see for fans of all ages.
Timed perfectly to open on May the 4th, the unofficial Star Wars Day, this world-first exhibition brings together two powerhouse franchises: LEGO® and Star Wars. At the helm is none other than LEGO® Certified Professional Ryan ‘Brickman’ McNaught, who, along with his team, has created an epic experience that celebrates the iconic saga in brick form.

Our Experience at LEGO® Star Wars: The Exhibition
This fantastic exhibition transported me straight back to my childhood. I loved Star Wars as a kid and still love it today. From the moment we entered, the experience felt like stepping aboard a starship—thanks to staggered entry times, the flow of people was well managed and never overwhelming.
Visitors are welcomed by Brickman himself (via video), who gives a great overview of what to expect. The exhibition is cleverly divided into sections, each one offering something new—from massive LEGO® recreations of iconic movie moments to interactive building stations where kids and adults alike can get hands-on.

There were plenty of building opportunities throughout, including the chance to design droids, try your hand at mystery mosaic building, and contribute to community builds. One of the most exciting features was the digital stations, where kids could watch their creations come to life on screen. At the lightsaber building station, you can even build your own LEGO® lightsaber, attach it to a Bluetooth widget, and see yourself wielding it on-screen—my son absolutely loved this!

My personal favourite was the Battle of Endor area. It was incredible to see the level of detail in the forest traps and scenery. Plus, there’s an added layer of fun for sharp-eyed visitors—hunt down tiny minifigures of The Mandalorian and Grogu hidden throughout the exhibition for a chance to win prizes. Be warned—there are a lot to find!
