South Side Festival is returning to Frankston for its third year, offering a wonderful celebration of arts and culture. Featuring over 45 events and shows, South Side Festival promises a diverse lineup including contemporary theatre, live music, visual arts exhibitions, immersive experiences, installations, workshops and multiple FREE events tailored for family fun!
South Side Festival runs from Friday 10 – Sunday 19 May, 2024.

This year’s festival celebrates the transformative power of the arts in shaping our cities with South Sid showcasing and highlighting how the arts breathe new life into our urban landscape, stimulate creativity and, foster community ties.

Unleash your creativity at Fast Fashun, where you can craft stylish outfits from clothing waste and take on the roles of designer, maker, and runway model – no experience required. Join the Fast Fashun team rummaging through the piles of discarded clothing, creating wild couture looks and presenting a runway show every hour.

Moon Sailors is an enchanting, free-roaming puppet performance that brings the Peninsula’s ecosystem to life! Inspired by the Australian picture book Moon Sailors (Naomi Woodward, Ford Street Publishing), marine puppets designed and built by A Blanck Canvas, and transcending music composed by Melbourne music producer Timothy Coghill (Hobart Chamber Orchestra) will excite a new generation to be caretakers of our home planet.

The award-winning Bird Child Spirit is a site-specific sound installation that is delightful and beautiful. Expect the unexpected in a rich artistic experience that everyone can enjoy. Be surrounded by the sounds of bird spirit children and give your ears a chance to take in this unique music.
