The iconic Tesselaar Tulip Festival 2025 returns for a milestone 70th year, celebrating seven decades of springtime magic from Saturday 13 September to Sunday 12 October 2025 in Silvan, nestled in the picturesque Dandenong Ranges, just a short drive from Melbourne. This legendary festival has grown from a small family event in 1954 into one of Australia’s most loved spring festivals, attracting visitors from across the country. Each year, more than one million tulips bloom across five acres, providing a spectacular backdrop for families, couples, and groups to enjoy a full program of themed weekends, live entertainment, cultural showcases, family-friendly activities, and gourmet delights.

To honour the 70th anniversary, this year’s festival pays special tribute to the Tesselaar family, whose Dutch heritage inspired the festival’s creation and enduring success. Visitors can immerse themselves in historical displays, witness traditional Dutch clog dancing, and hear stories of the early years of tulip farming in Australia, making it both an educational and magical experience.

1. Cultural Weekends – Explore global traditions with Turkish, Dutch, and Irish weekends, featuring authentic food, music, dancing, and traditional arts.
2. Family Fun – The festival is perfect for kids, with Octonauts Live in Week One and PAW Patrol Live in Week Two of the spring school holidays. Families can also enjoy storytelling, wildlife shows, face painting, tractor rides, and interactive activities for all ages.
3. All That Jazz Weekend – Relax among the tulip fields while local jazz musicians provide a smooth, live soundtrack.
4. Rock the Fields – Dance through the decades with a live band and high-energy performances from Shine Dancing, alongside food trucks and festival treats.
5. Spring Fever – Enjoy a quieter, off-peak experience with discounted tickets for a peaceful stroll through endless rows of vibrant tulips.
